The Conway Hot Shots did very well in their first SCDNR competition where over 480 youth were in competition. The team had squads in the Varsity and Middle School divisions of this year’s Trap Open on January 19th, 2019. As a result, the team received invitations for the Middle School Squad, and an Individual Senior. On February 8th, 2019 the team traveled back to Edgefield, SC to compete in the SCDNR Trap Championship Event.
Congratulations to the Conway Hot Shots Middle School Club squad for finishing 2nd place in this year’s SCDNR Trap Championship. Donovan Harris, Adam Teems, and Chase Mackey, all from Conway Middle School, competed as a squad and finished in 2nd place in their division. Donovan Harris also picked up the highest individual score overall in the Middle School Club Boys division by scoring a 43 out of 50.
The lone senior on the squad had the opportunity to compete for several scholarships. Noah Collins was just 1 point away from 1st place where there was a tie at 42. With his score of 41, Noah had to finish the day in a shoot off with 2 other athletes. When all the dust settled, Noah finished in 4th place overall.
